"A good teacher is one who can understand those who are not very good at explaining, and explain to those who are not very good at understanding."
by Dwight D. Eisenhower.
I have found this quote to guide me often when I am working with young children. It reminds me that if I have a child not able to understand what I am teaching, then I need to change my procedure and find a different way. I also need to always make sure that I put myself in the child’s shoes and be patient with him while he is learning. To help each child in my classroom, I must make sure that I prepare the environment for each individual child, and that I am attentive to their needs for learning.
